Derby Style...Off to the Races!

It is the first Saturday in May.  You know what that means?  The Kentucky Derby!  And this year we have a double whammy with Cinco de Mayo on the same day.  Talk about having to pace yourself!  Mint Juleps in the morning, Margaritas in the afternoon and Excedrin at midnight.

But seriously...the FASHIONS!  I mean, ok, the race is absolutely exhilarating. But let's be honest I love the hats and fascinators!!  I have a collection and they are so fun.

Now, although these looks are pure Cinco de Derby approved, these looks could be just as perfect for the  busy bridal season ahead.  The dresses themselves translate beautifuly to a Mother's Day Brunch, First Communion, and graduations just to name a few!

Derby 2018 (1).jpg

I love pink and I love this hat.  It's a WIN-WIN for me! If you are outdoors and in a warm climate enjoying outdoor festivities you will love it.  It is by Kate Landry and I found it at Dillard's.  The dress is a lovely abstract floral and it is by Katherine Kelly at Dillard's.

Derby 2018.jpg

I am totally obsessed with this lip color! It is from Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Paint-On liquid lip collection.  The name is Liquid Desire #406.  It feels amazing on, has a "vinyl" finish, but it is not too shiny and the color stays put for hours.  I also have it in Chrome Copper and it too delivers great color pay-off.

You need to try these, you will love them!

Derby Day 2018.jpg

Another great hat option is the fascinator a form of hat that may be traced back to the Renaissance era of the 16th century.

derby 2018 (3).jpg

If you don't want or like a big hat then the fascinator is your perfect choice.  This cutie is by Kate Landry at Dillard's.  It will make you feel like a guest off to the upcoming Royal Nuptials! This great looking dress is by Gabby Skye at Nordstrom.  A terrific fit and flare with another take on the floral print.  The woven fabric is very unique and so pretty!

I hope you have enjoyed my Cinco de Derby inspired fashions!  Thanks so much for sharing my passion for fashion.  Whatever you find yourself doing this weekend, hope you have lots of fun and remember,

Stay beautiful!

Spring Fling Date Night!

Spring is here!  HALLELUJAH!!  Did I ever tell you animal print is my favorite color?  Well, know you know... I was excited to wear this stylish and classic maxi dress from HSN and the Iman Collection for our weekend date night. Here in Las Vegas the flowers are in bloom and the weather is perfect.  I love this dress for so many reasons.  Great fabric that moves beautifully.  A classic animal print and a high-low hem keeps it interesting.  It has a long belt around the waist that I tied up in the back.

Spring 2018 1.jpg
Spring 2018 3.jpg

The sunglasses are my favorite by Tom Ford and Saks Fifth Avenue.  I opted for simple yet striking rose gold finish pave jewelry by Joan Boyce for HSN.  I love the pave collar and matching earrings.  Her jewelry collection makes you feel like a million without robbing the bank!

Spring 2018.jpg

The high low hem keeps you cool and allows a little leg to peek out.  Speaking of legs...My are looking great thanks to my FAVORITE self tanning product by Josie Maran Cosmetics.  Her argan oil line is truly exceptional and the self tanning oil is so fantastic.   You have to give this a try.  Trust me when I tell you, it will become your go-to!  The tan it gives you is believable and buildable. The argan oil gives you a beautiful glow and lots of moisture.  Two new products I am trying and wearing on date night (because Tati on You-Tube raves about them) is the Guerlain L'Or primer and the Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion full coverage foundation.  I will let you know how they perform in an upcoming post.

Now, on to one of my favorite restaurants. It is the Andiron Steak & Seafood Restaurant located in Downtown Summerlin.  A great shopping and eating destination.  I love the staff, the décor, vibe and the food is DELISH!  If you are ever in the neighborhood you must stop by!

Isn't the décor just so fresh and classic?  The pops of light green make me happy and their signature black floral print which is visible in their custom plates and staff uniform is so fun.  I love a good floral chintz pattern, any day!

Pink for Spring!

Happy Spring Equinox!  I truly  feel re-born and happy knowing the days get longer, temps begin to rise, flowers and trees bloom and colorful warm weather fashions are just around the corner!  And of course, I will finally put the winter boots away and reach for sandals...Hello pedicures!

This stylish pink vest is another great spring transition piece.  It is by Karl Lagerfeld from Saks Off Fifth.  I love the color.  Everyone looks pretty in pink!  Trust me. Who doesn't love a puffer vest? The zipper and tweed trim add a stylish touch and front pockets make it perfect!

Read on to find out about my go to jewelry accessories!

Chico's Chic!

Hello Fashionistas!

As we transition into spring, a few lightweight pieces to the wardrobe are a must!  I love when we get to spring forward mode because the days get longer and I thrive on sunshine!  I also enjoy that I get to wear some lighter pieces, especially in outerwear. By this time in the season I am so tired of heavy coats! Where are my flip-flops? This Chico's coat is one of my favorites!  The colors are great and it is a lightweight boiled wool.

chicos coat.jpg
chicos caot.jpg

The coat is colorful in a neutral kind of  way and the stripes are well placed.  It has a hidden zipper and pockets.  I paired it with a Talbots Cashmere Collection sweater and a Talbots "crinkle" scarf.  The hat is one of my go-to's...Coldwater Creek.  The sunglasses are Gucci.  The earings were a gift from my mom and she scored these lovely double sided pearl studs at T.J. Maxx, I get so many compliments on them. LOVE that place!

Chicos coat (1).jpg
chicos coat.jpg

As you can see this coat is adorable.  Perfect for looking pulled together in a hurry.  It also lends itself to great accessories.  It moves well, its is comfortable to wear and the fabric and details are just right.  Oh, and it has nice pockets for that ever present cell phone and lipstick!

I hope you have enjoyed this post!  Thanks for subscribing and feel free to let others know about my blog.  The more the merrier!

Wishing you a very Happy Monday!

Colorful Camo, Yes Please!

I love it when camo is done right and gets an update!  This one from New York and Co. does not disappoint.  It is the perfect length and weight and fits true to size.  What I love is the pop of color on the hood!  The bright yellow faux-fur is perfect and playful.  Sorry, the ATV is not part of the sale!

NYCO CAMO COAT.jpg

The boots below are Tory Burch and I just love them!  They are rubber boots and perfect for our delightful "mud season" or the predictable April showers.  Wherever you live you need these lovelies!

In Colorado winter is very much still here.  Who doesn't want a little color in winter? The jacket has an interior drawstring that gives definition to your your waist.  Several pockets make it perfect along with a zipper and buttons.  It has everything you need and its on sale for $29.99!!!

Kate Spade Coat

Is winter over yet?  Not according to the groundhog community!  Which means I will be wearing this beautiful wool Kate Spade coat just a little longer.  The bow in the back makes it so adorable!  One of the benefits of winter, for me, is skiing  and the beautiful fashions...coats included!

The style of this coat is timeless. The details are perfect and you can dress this up with slacks or some black leather leggings.  The ruched black scarf is Talbots and the sunglasses are Gucci.  The denim leggings I live in are from New York & CO.  Kate Spade is truly one of my favorite designers.  Her items are very feminine yet timeless and her quality is fantastic.  This is one coat I will have and wear for many years to come.

New York & CO. Camo

Let's get real.  When we are at home we want to be comfy!  Am I right?  But I don't like looking sloppy....PRESTO!  These New York & CO. velour loungewear pieces are saving me.  How cute are these?  I like to lounge in style and these fit the bill.  The cute camo print comes in two colorways, traditional green and the ones I am wearing which are a tone on tone gray. And they are on MAJOR SALE!!!  How does $9.99 for each sound??  That's music to my ears.

NY&CO CAMO.jpg
MADDEN KICKS.jpg
BRIGHTON SUNNIES.jpg

I love the whole athleisure fashion vibe.  The sneaks on the left are Steve Madden.  They are a black suede leather combination that will NEVER go out of style.  The cute sunglasses are from Brighton and they are some of my favorite go-to's when I want to look stylish.    The woven beanie hat is Madison 88.

NY&CO2.jpg
NY&CO CAMO.jpg

These pieces are versatile and can be worn with other pieces you may have in your closet.  The velour sweats run true to size and I am wearing a small in both.  Oh, I am wearing a great lipstick find from the drugstore...  It's the new L'Oréal  Colour Riche Shine Lipstick.  The color I am wearing is 904 Varnished Rosewood, a perfect rose-nude color.  It feels like a buttery balm and believe me, it feels terrific and the color pay-off is very, very good.  I think these launched this month, so....what are you waiting for???  It is less than $9.99 and I found it at Wal-Mart or as I like to call it....Wally World!  Now that I think about it I may have to buy a few more colors.

I hope you have a great weekend and have fun watching the Superbowl....or not...Stay Stylish!!

Winter Break in Scottsdale

Winter can be a long season especially for us who live in Colorado.  So, I was ready for a winter break and we decided to take a long weekend and visit Scottsdale. We have not been there in years!  We had a dual purpose...the Barrett-Jackson Car Auction and the Scottsdale Art Auction featuring over 400 works of art by the Leanin' Tree Museum collection.  We had great fun.  The Barrett-Jackson Auction was an unbelievable event that takes place over multiple days.  Overwhelming!  However, a must see for car buffs and aficionados.

Mobile Image (4).jpg

This was one of the looks for our gallery hopping and attending the art auction.  The floral top is by @Talbots and I love the lively colors especially in January when things can look a bit dreary, right?  The suit is one I picked up @New York & CO.  It is so comfortable, stylish and I felt very pulled together!  The color was also a factor in my buying it.

SCOTTSDALE1.jpg
Mobile Image (5).jpg

The suit is soft and the jacket is NOT structured, so movement is key! The slacks are wide leg and come in a number of colors as does the jacket.  I wore my go-to pearl necklaces, they seem to be the most often seen item in this blog!  You can't go wrong with pearls.    These shoes are so adorable and were actually comfortable to walk around during the Scottsdale Art Auction.  I bought these at DSW, you've heard of them, right??? Ha!  I must mention two terrific restaurants we loved.  You must try The House Brasserie for new American cuisine in a very quaint older home in old Scottsdale.  Within walking distance to everything.  Also fine Italian and home made pasta can be found at Marcellino.  Fantastic food, ambiance and live music that won't compete with your conversation.

Mobile Image (3).jpg
Mobile Image (2).jpg

Here are a few photos of the amazing Barrett-Jackson.  It was very high energy and the cars were beautiful as you can see by the look of this   Studebaker!  Next time I'll bring my wallet!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Your comments and suggestions are always welcomed.  Don't forget to follow me on INSTAGRAM!

Have a great week

Oversized Sweater and Chicos Leggings

Happy New 2018!  Who doesn't want to start the year in comfort while looking stylish!?  The Christmas season can be so hectic.  By the time the New Year rolls around I want to go into "hibernation" mode!  Well, who am I kidding?  An oversized boxy pullover sweater and animal print leggings are just what I like and it checks off all the must haves!  This cozy black sweater is by BCBGMAXAZARIA.  It has a soft turtleneck and wide short sleeves.  I love adding long necklaces...the more merrier, right?

GGG NOV 17.jpg
LEGGINGS chicos.jpg

These animal print leggings are sooo comfortable AND stylish.  They are from one of my favorite places to shop...CHICOS!  You could dress them up or down.  Cute ballet flats would look so effortless while running errands and hitting up all the after Christmas sales.   I paired this outfit with some peep toe stacked heel booties from New York & CO.  Maybe drinks with the girls or date night with your sweetie after all that shopping?

BLACK BOOTIES.jpg

Are these booties not perfect?  New York & CO is not my usual go-to for shoe shopping but I saw them and knew they would work with so many outfits!  FYI...nails are OPI Red, just sayin'.....

Chicos leggings.jpg

This is the perfect outfit to start the new year.  Comfortable and stylish. The sweater is longer in the back so it covers you beautifully. (I love that it is hiding all the egg nog I enjoyed last month)  And who doesn't love a little animal print in the mix?  Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting my blog.  Your support means a lot!  I wish you and yours a very HEALTHY, HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS 2018!

Christmas Day Outfit

This super comfy sweater dress is what I wore for Christmas Day dinner at Alpenrose Restaurant in Vail, CO.  It is by  Cremieux Collection and I  found this one at Dillard's.

XMAS DAY 2017.jpg

The dress is cozy and comfy and I love the cowl neck.  It has a little bit of sparkle in the threads and mini sequins. Very festive!  I found these fabulous velvet pull-on boots at Neiman Marcus and they are by Donald Pliner. The kitten heels are comfortable while walking around in Vail Village on our way to cocktails at the Sonnenalp Hotel.  They do such a beautiful job decorating for the holidays!

DENNIS BASSO FAUX FUR.jpg

This is such a fun faux fur coat!  I love the colors and it feels AMAZING!  It is designed by Dennis Basso and can be found at QVC.  I am not sure if it is still available as I have had it for several years.  BUT...he has many designs online.

Hope you are staying warm & having fun!

Green Fit & Flare Dress

What a pretty green fit and flare dress!  What attracted me at first was the lovely green color BUT what sold me was the embellished neckline and arms.  Just the perfect amount of sparkle.  I found this dress at Dillard's and it is by Belle Badgley Mischka Collection.

163bt (1).jpg

The hemline is perfect as I am not fond of anything that hits me too high above the knee. It moves very gracefully and I just feel great when I wear it!  That's the whole point of fashion, right?

GGG XMAS 17 (2).jpg

The embellishment is so pretty!  Similar to a star pattern and I would be comfortable wearing this to a dressy lunch as I would for a casual New Years Eve.  It's just that versatile!

GGG XMAS 17 PM2.jpg

Here is a close up view of the front.  Simple, elegant, colorful and comfortable!  I collect angels and I sometimes have them out all year long.  Don't worry, my Christmas lights don't suffer the same fate!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing my passion for fashion.

Happy New Year!

Faux Real!

This is one of my all time favorite purchases!  Does this coat look like total luxury?  YES! But....it is FAUX FUR done to perfection! The black faux fur glows and has such great depth and movement.  At a fraction of the cost!  #WINNING!! This beauty is from the Pamela McCoy Collection.  Her faux fur collection is AMAZING!

FAUX REAL (3).jpg
FAUX REAL (1).jpg
FAUX REAL.jpg

The coat has a beautiful collar and sleeves that are ruched to keep you toasty warm.  The faux pelts are  horizontal, look so great and make you look taller and slim.  The length is perfect for more formal events or if its just to dang cold!  Two simple buttons at the neck and hook closures down the front along with two deep pockets complete the beautiful design.  I have this coat in faux brown mink too and my big regret is not buying it in the black and white chinchilla pattern.  What the heck was I thinking??  Maybe next time?

An elegant yet fun clutch is what I have been carrying to all the holiday functions. "Naughty" on one side "Nice" on the other.  How cute is that?

Pamela McCoy has a beautiful and extensive line of faux fur coats and I encourage you to look them up. They can be found at Evine.

Stay Warm!

Red and Gold Tapestry Duster

I do love tapestry.  I love the fabric!  Let's face it, I rather dream of pretty clothes than sugarplums dancing in my head. Those sugarplums go straight to my posterior, ugh.   Who needs THAT!  And I know you NEED this GORGEOUS tapestry duster coat!  It comes in three stunning color combinations.  Thank you Susan Graver and QVC for this design! This jacket is beautifully done but the back design is stunning. Pleated and slightly longer.  Full of drama!

206bt (1).jpg
188bt.jpg

Since the volume and drama of this outfit was all  about the jacket I wanted to keep everything else subtle. I paired the jacket with velvet leggings and I'm wearing a Talbots cashmere sweater underneath and satin d'orsay pumps.

192bt.jpg

I love jewelry and this necklace is one of my favorites.  It is from the Audrey Hepburn Collection for HSN. They  feel and look great.  Honestly, the photo does not do them justice.

185bt (1).jpg

I love the back of this jacket!!  I feel like I'm wearing tuxedo tails! Ha! What I like the most is that it is not overwhelming or too warm.  You can wear it indoors and look chic!  I'm seriously thinking of buying this one in another color...just don't tell my darling husband.  Our secret, ok?

Don't forget to subscribe to my blog that way you won't miss a thing!

Cheers!

Naughty & Nice

Another reason to celebrate and look great while singing those Christmas Carols or maybe spinning that dreidel????  Whatever you chose to do you will look and feel beautiful wearing this dress. i know I did when I wore this to a recent holiday dinner.   Adrianna Papell does such a classy job with designs and fabrics.

naught & nice.jpg
GGG XMAS 17 (1).jpg

This is such a beautiful floral dress and the fit and flare style is one of my favorites.  So very festive!  The bonus is the skirt has a built in crinoline slip and pockets.

GGG XMAS 17 (2).jpg

Now, lets talk about this adorable clutch!!!  Who's been naughty AND nice?  I'm probably on both lists.  Go figure!.  Found this fun clutch in the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book for under $70.00.  It is a conversation starter for sure!

GGG XMAS 17.jpg

The rose gold pave bangles add a touch of subtle sparkle to the bold floral dress. They are by Joan Boyce.

Naughty or Nice?  That's for Santa to figure out.  In the meantime, I got more shopping to do!

A Christmas Ball Gown

This formal gown is Beautiful!  I could have REALLY danced ALL NIGHT!  Where is the von Trapp Family when you need them!??  Nevertheless, I still had a wonderful time when I wore this to a black tie holiday party recently.

XMAS BALL GOWN (1).jpg
103bt.jpg

The ball gown is by Adrianna Papell and I bought it at Dillard's.  Blue is my favorite color and the top has gorgeous blue and off white embroidered lace.  A bow at the waist makes it so feminine but the BEST PART is that the skirt has POCKETS!!!  #HAPPY DANCE!  My Estee Lauder lipstick in Vengeful Red (wearing here) spent the entire night in my pocket for quick touch-ups.  I also liked that the skirt is designed shorter at the front and longer in the back. It even has an old fashioned crinoline!   And when you walk it just flows with such elegance...pass the champagne, please.

117bt.jpg
112bt.jpg
119bt.jpg

These shoes are perfect for this dress.  A silver sparkle with a slight blue hue.  They have been in my closet for years.  They were designed by Adrienne Maloof of Housewives of Beverly Hills fame.  I have not see her line in ages, so...unfortunately not available.  But, you get the picture.

I wish you a blessed Holiday Season! Be Happy. Be Blessed. Be Glamourous.

Track Suit Meets Tuxedo

The track suit is BACK!  Did it really ever go away?  But this one is elevated to fashion that belongs at a tree trimming party, cocktails with friends, entertaining for the holidays or at any time!  First of all, it is velvet and the fun part is it has a tuxedo stripped pant!  This is casual glam perfection. I added a pair of pearl studded slides and some fun jewelry. Let's just say I would not be embarrassed to open the door to  UPS delivery wearing this. The zippered top also has the tuxedo detail and the ever present hoodie I LOVE. (Because I'm always cold).

The suit is by Serena Williams for HSN and comes in an array of colors. The slides are Catherine Malandrino.  I hope this look helps you when entertaining this holiday season and all winter long

Cheers!

HOLIDAY GLOW!

Yes, it is the most wonderful time of the year!  Parties, shopping, parties, gift wrapping, parties, trying to snag a primo parking spot!  Oh, lets us not forget all the egg- noggin' and eating. It's all fun and games until you look in the mirror and...GASP! Lackluster skin?  No, thank you!  A great invigorating mask is just what is needed.  I love the Glam Glow array of masks. They get the job done and this one is one of my favorites.  It is a mud to oil consistency and after fifteen minutes your skin will look totally refreshed.  Ready for another party, anyone?

Stay tuned for other skin saving tips as I share with you more of my favorites!

Now, Go Get Your Glow On!

Sweater Weather and Velvet Booties

I truly love comfort while staying on trend. A cozy sweater with a fun side tie knot and comfy paisley velvet booties make running thru a busy day look chic and pulled together! The sweater is soft, true to size and how cute is that side knot? The velvet booties have a classic look with a paisley pattern and the heel height is perfect.

Both the sweater and ankle boots are from Nordstrom. I bought them during their much awaited Anniversary Sale and have been waiting for the weather to cooperate with my wardrobe selections. Finally!

Thanks for stopping by! Now...Shop On!

The Must Have Embroidered Moto Jacket

I must say I have ALWAYS been a lover of anything that is embroidered. This fall season had me doing cartwheels! So many great clothing pieces are embellished and embroidered, from denim jeans to velvet jackets and dresses. When I saw this little number I knew it would be perfect.

Ok, I know what you are thinking....another BLACK motorcycle jacket? Well, what I love about this one is that it is faux-leather and it has a bit of stretch so I don't feel stiff while wearing it. But it's all in the embroidery. The pretty blue floral pattern on the sleeves, the slight asymmetrical zipper and the simple collar makes this one classy and effortless. Not to mention that it is available in other colors! I have paired it with a simple spaghetti strap culottes/ jumper and black accessories and my favorite pearl necklace. But I know I will be wearing it with jeans and a t-shirt too.

I may not have a Harley-Davidson but I know I will be going places in this classic piece!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a great day!

I Love Autumn

Autumn is truly a magical time.  Cool crisp days and nights.  Falling leaves, beautiful bright golden colors, college football and pumpkin spice everything!  But... Let's not forget the fashions!

I especially love this outfit I put together for an evening of fundraising a few weeks ago. The blouse with  flowing sleeves and gorgeous gold color is one of my favorites and I am happy to see the spring-summer trend continue to the fall and winter.  I love gold jewelry and found some long necklaces that complemented the whole look.

The velvet skirt is so comfortable thanks to a bit of stretch in the material and I love the lady like length.  But these shoes make me smile.  They are suede, playful and (the magic word)...comfy!!  Who woulda thunk it?  I wanted to add a bit of texture and knew I wanted some fishnet style hosiery.

I was thrilled to find a black floral pattern to complete the look.  Color, comfort and a bit of glamorous fall style!

Wishing you a fabulous day ahead!
